Accomplished International Advisor John Mullally joins CanEducate Board

John Mullally, an accomplished international advisor who currently serves as the Regional Vice President for Sustainability and External Relations for Newmont Goldcorp, has joined the Board of CanEducate.

John’s deep experience in international and corporate relations will be a huge asset to CanEducate as the charity continues to focus on expanding its relationships with the countries in which CanEducate’s program schools reside; and also to assist in the search for other strategic partners to help drive the charity’s continued growth.

In his role at Newmont Goldcorp John assists the organization’s North American Region integrate government relations, indigenous and community relations, environmental affairs and communications into their overall corporate strategies.

John also worked for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, where he spent considerable time in West Africa and was a contributor to the African Economic Outlook (AEO) – a report featuring macroeconomic analysis of the African continent.  Other international work included a project on behalf of the Canadian International Development Agency to develop local and indigenous capacity in northern remote Argentina. He was also a founding member of Me to We Style, an innovative Canadian social enterprise partnered with Free the Children, a Canadian NGO focused on building schools and improving communities in Kenya, Ghana and Peru.  He is passionate about causes that strive to improve access to health and education  in Canada and abroad.  He serves on the Board of Directors of Hope Air, a Canadian charity that helps ensure all Canadians have access to health care facilities.

He completed a Bachelor of Commerce at Dalhousie and a MBA at INSEAD in France.  He is fluent in French and Spanish and has worked and studied in over 10 countries on four continents.
